Balance

My cousin was recently married in a stunning ceremony a few months ago, sadly I was unable to attend, which I regret because it was just so lovely. I miss my cousins so much!

Two days ago, my cousin and his beautiful wife went to church. After which they drove through a very nice suburb to drop off something to a friend. The area is sort of like Vaucluse or Point Piper, to give you some perspective.

Once they reached their destination, my cousin's wife got out of their car first.

She was immediately surrounded by 4 men with guns.

Before my cousin could do anything at all, 2 men held guns to his head and heart.

He struggled with the thieves guns, asking to let his wife go, offered them the keys to his brand new car in exchange for his wife.

They did not want the car, instead stealing both their watches, wedding rings and her engagement ring.

The thieves could not get her rings off, and bit her finger, hard, to pull them off.
Then the thieves then left quickly.

My cousin's wife needed anti-viral shots and multiple stitches to her hand.
Everyone is pretty shaken up still.

We came so close to losing them both.

This is just so surreal and terrible and makes you think about balance in the world.

They were on top of the world, newly married with happiness pretty much radiating around them...only to be brought down by something as awful as this, almost taking everything away in a heartbeat.

But they are alive and safe, and thats something to be truly happy about.
